About Robert Reagan

Robert Reagan is a Los Angeles-based artist. He works primarily in oil-based pastels on paper. Reagan presents bright figurative tableaux derived from fictional, remembered or imagined observations. His subject matter ranges from the worlds of art galleries and jazz clubs to westerns and sports. Reagan's art critiques in a lively, vibrant style but with a sense of wit and compassion. Faces and expressions figure strongly for the artist forging fundamental emotions and situations into seamless narratives.

Prior to immersing himself full time in painting, Reagan was a highly acclaimed director and cinematographer. He has won top awards in a multitude of shows including the NY Art Directors Show, as well as the LA Art Directors Show, and the Communication Arts Show San Francisco. He was named the DGA Director of the Year (West Coast) and has been awarded scores of Clios. He has also garnered international recognition in the Cannes Film Festival, the Venice (Italy) Film Festival, and the Japan Film Festival.
